Shashana D. Bonilla, the heart and soul behind SDBinteriors, creates spaces that feel special, heartfelt, and practical. She loves cultivating environments where families can really enjoy life and most importantly enjoy time spent with one another. Shashana puts her creativity, love, and a bit of herself into every project.

Possessing a dual baccalaureate in Architecture and Interior Design, coupled with a decade of immersive experience in design fields such as new build and remodeling construction, hospitality design, commercial design, and mechanical design
has cultivated a uniquely holistic perspective.

Shashana has mastered the understanding of spatial articulation, material confluence, and the symbiotic relationship between form and function. This fusion of architectural and interior discernment allows for the creation of environments that transcend mere aesthetics; embodying a seamless integration of structural integrity and richness, where each element contributes to a cohesive and expressive narrative.

Hi, I'm Shashana D. Bonilla

Owner, Principal Designer

I enjoy creating effortlessly organic, soulful, but functional spaces for families so they can live their best lives in their homes. I believe a home should be the place where you can unwind, recharge and be your best authentic self. In my free time I enjoy working on my organic garden, making homemade "from scratch" recipes and traveling with my husband Bryan and two wonderful kids, Noah and Rosalie.

"In November of 2024 we bought a 20 plus year old house in the heart of Richmond that needed a whole house remodel...meaning new floors, knocking out walls, redoing the kitchen, etc. By way of background, my wife and I are not rookies when it comes to projects like this, we have done many whole house remodels, gutting houses down to the studs in some cases as well as buying land and building from scratch. In our past projects we have been fortunate to find great contractors who worked with skilled designers and then finally interior designers to assist with furniture layout, etc. Shashana does all of these things and more. She worked with us from the very beginning with the construction drawings, to picking out every last detail. Flooring, paint, cabinets...everything! She is by far and away the most skilled , talented person we have ever worked with...she quickly "got us." Without Shashana, our house would have turned out OK....with Shashana our house is amazing. These types of projects are expensive, making a mistake is very costly, Shashana will keep you from making mistakes. Whatever her fees are its worth every penny to make sure your investment turns out right."
